Meet the Teachers:
Devin Moore, a founding member of FireDance and Urban Fire, started teaching classes at the age of 12. She believes that there is a special communication that occurs between God and a person who is pouring themselves into their dance. Devin's training includes ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop and contemporary. She trained locally as well as spending two years as part of Dance Revolution's Ingredients Training Program and Company Team. Devin teaches Hip Hop, Contemporary and Barre Workout classes.
Daniel Brydebell currently teaches our Boyz Krew and Hip Hop classes. He brings his passion for God and his creativity to the class, training the boys in aspects of freestyle, bboying and choreography. Daniel has danced and performed since a very young age at various local events and churches and continues to work with his sisters in their dance ministry.
Samantha Dion, Tyler Pace and Morgan Moore round out our teaching staff.
Welcome to the Urban Fire Dance Studio. We offer classes in a variety of 'urban' or 'street' dance styles that are family-friendly and affordable.
We believe that we can accomplish this in our classes by using choreography that is fun and fresh, while at the same time keeping the flavor of the street. Don't come to our classes expecting 'booty' dancing or 'soulja boy.' You'll be disappointed. However, if you are looking for something that you can post on YouTube and at the same time not be ashamed to have Mom watch, then Urban Fire Dance Studio is the place for you!
Colossians 1:16 says that "all things were created by God and for God." We believe that includes the more contemporary styles of music and dance that are often known as "hip hop."
As the creator of everything, God intended music and dance to be used for His glory. Unfortunately, the world has distorted and perverted some styles of dance into something tasteless and far from a worshipful experience. God has called us to bring the true worship experience of dance to this generation of young people.
